About the RPI Assessment

The Risk Predictive Index (RPI) is a Behavioural Assessment that will ask you to respond to 367 questions. The assessment is broken into four sections, Test A, B, C & D with a short description of what to expect at the start of every section.

The format of the question varies across the four tests. Some sections may ask you to tick a True or False box, whilst other questions will require you to choose one of the six responses. Below is a typical question and options to respond:

We encourage you to answer openly, honestly and consistently, as many of the questions will be repeated or re-phrased to ensure a consistent response.

The final RPI Report will be ranked against fellow applicants from the same industry, so your outcome will be compared and adjusted to fellow colleagues.

Cognify and/or Emotify

The RPI Assessment may be combined with the Cognify and/or Emotify assessments. Further details of these assessments are provided in the About section.

You will know if you have to complete these assessments, as they will appear at the end and not allow you to submit until everything is completed.

Time Limit

The assessment is not timed, and you can leave and return if needed, as long as you complete the assessment before the deadline. On average, it takes around 60 minutes to complete the RPI assessment.

Twelve Month Rule

This assessment can only be completed once every 12 months. If you are invited to repeat the assessment within 12 months:

  1. by the same Organisation, your results will be automatically released, so you can be considered in the current intake;

  2. by another Organisation, you will be asked to log in to your PRISM Account and give permision to release results. If the other Organisation is part of another industry, your ASM Report rank may be adjusted as your outcome will be compared to the new industry.

After twelve months, you will be able to complete the full RPI Assessment again.

Background

The RPI was developed by SafeSelect to report over 36 behaviours, or scales, to determine suitability of candidates for a position of care and responsibility for others, that may face the threat of violence and the need to use force.

The research data has been gathered over the last 30 years from participants across the Australian general population and refined further by industry.

How this Report is used

SafeSelect provides this report to your Organisation for assessment purposes, typically in the recruitment process. These Behavioral reports give an indication of the type of response you may demonstrate in certain circumstances.

We request all Organisations to review the RPI report in conjunction with all other information you may have provided, such as resumes, references, queries and interactions, so this is not treated in isolation. However, the final decision is always made by the Organisation, not SafeSelect.

Privacy

SafeSelect trains and authorises key staff at the relevant Organisation to review the final report. All information in this assessment is strictly confidential and restricted to key staff only.

As the Report may be called upon in the future, it remains the property of the relevant Organisation.

Individuals may enquire about their personal information such as name, date of birth, email and background questions, however, all information regarding the assessment and report are strictly sealed and not available under any circumstances.
